I often wonder how many women out there are like me: I absolutely love the thrill of travel and seeing new places. It makes me feel alive in ways I can’t feel from anything else. But I’m also a huge creature of habit, and I thrive when I have my comforting daily rituals. I can’t be the only one who feels this way? I always make sure to pack a few things to make it feel a little more like home. Check out some of my cozy must-haves:

When I’m on vacation, I usually have a hard time sleeping because I’m so excited, so being comfy in bed is a must. Most vacation rentals will have extra blankets available, but if you’re staying in a hotel, there’s nothing worse than the bed having a thin sheet, and, to be honest, I don’t feel comfortable snuggling with the top-layer blanket. If room allows, I pack a thin blanket for journeys. This organic, airy gauze from Quince is perfect.

A pair of warm and fuzzy slippers is heaven after a full day of walking around sightseeing. The Everyday Slip-On made with sheepskin from East Perry is just compact enough for packing. If you’re really short on space, their medical-grade sheepskin insoles are a great choice and could even fit in a small carry-on.

At home, I make tea 2-3 times a day. When I’m on vacation, I still want my tea, but I don’t always want to pay $4-5 a cup from fancy coffee shops every day. I always make sure to pack a few bags of tea. Collapsible, travel-sized teapots are available now; I have not tried one before.

This glass water bottle with a stainless steel infuser is a dream come true for tea lovers. You can bring loose-leaf tea and skip the plastic-lined cups from tea shops while on the go!

Long flights and road trips can make legs extremely uncomfortable. I never thought I’d be wearing compression socks on travel days, but I am , and I wish I had started sooner. I found these socks from Hollow, and I love wearing them. They are made with baby alpaca fur and are so soft!
Anytime I feel like I need a little extra calming before bed, I lightly mist my bed with lavender hydrosol to help me unwind and bring a sense of peace. Hydrosol is the by-product of the distilling process and is much gentler than essential oils. You can even use hydrosol as a facial mist or to freshen your clothes while you travel. Familiar smells can also be comforting while traveling. My favorite hydrosols are lavender and fir tree.

Most packing blog posts online promote packing less, but for those of us who are comfort seekers, sometimes you have to compromise on space. If I can bring some cozy with me, I’m okay with less room for souvenirs.
What do you like to pack for comfort?
